Is America Ready for this?

As I sat in the barber shop over the weekend looking for something to read until it was my turn to sit in the chair, I couldn't help but be taken in by this image and headline.

I have been impressed with this brother ever since he hit the national political scene. I was even more impressed after reading his first book and finding out he was, as we used to say, "the truth".

This guy has all the makings of becoming the first African American President, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. All eyes are definitely on him. I even caught him on Meet the Press Sunday morning where he revealed that he is giving more thought to running in 2008, and I personally think he is a much better choice than Hillary. Hopefully the rest of the Dem's will be willing to back him rather than split the party over this.

He also has a new book out, that I can't wait to check out.
So, do you think America is ready for a black president? Check him out and tell me what you think.

Funny, I had just ordered the book before logging onto your site. I heard an interview the other day where he said the only two people qualified to be president were Bill Clinton and George H. because they know what it takes to do the job. Anyone else, according to him, would be learning on the job.

I think he is charismatic, etc. but I am not sure he would survive the campaign. No, not that he wouldn't be able to endure it but we have a way in this Country of ending the lives of people who we feel will help make this a more inclusive nation. It's sad, but a reality.

I feel the same way, but the only thing he has going for him is that he has a large white following as well.

Looks like Lo has a biter on her hands. You're doing everything that she does on her blog. Same kind of stuff about music and the same kind of pop culture posts.

Get your own sense of style, and rent the movie "All About Eve" while you're at it. Lo's nice enough to let you shine on her spot, but the least you could do if you're going to start a blog is try to be different from her. Next thing you know you'll be trying to write books. And what a shock, they'll be just like Lo's.

Stop style-jacking and trying to ride someone else's coattails to get some glory.

Don't be such a hater, anonymous. It just so happens that we happen to like some of the same things, which probably stands to reason why we are friends (before she became famous, by the way). Our fondness for similar discussion led me to her blog in the first place.

Not that you would know, but I also authored posts on her site, just look below her pictures and you'll see yours truly under "contributors".

I was "Rich" before I caught back up with "Lo". I just didn't want to invade her space so much, so I stepped out on my own. So until you decide that you want to be someone other than "anonymous" and bring something to the table, stay on the side line and continue drinking your Hater-ade.

Forget about anonymous. It's easy to hate when you don't have to use your real name. What a pu$$y!!! Oooops...is The Rich House x-rated?
Anyway, I'm with Juan. I'm scared for Obama--big time.

Someone hipped me to the post by annonymous and in their defense I think they thought they were looking out for Lo.

As they say imitation is the highest compliment.

Oddly, while Lo loves Bette Davis, as I recall (and I may be wrong) All About Eve is not in her top five B.D. movies.

What anon probably doesn't realize is that many of us are friends of Lo's outside the Blog and have known here for many years (Rich has known her longer than me).

If anon were a regular visitor to Lo's site they would also know that that's how many of us leanred of Rich's site was through her telling us about it so apparently Lo doesn't take issue with this site so I really can't see why you should.

But one thing that I have learned as I have traveled this road called life -- opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

to be honest, i don't know enough about obama to even understand his political agenda.

he definitely has the "black" vote with me, but my problem exist is what has he done lately? keep in mind, he only "won" the senate on a proxy because his opponent fell out under the cloud of a sex scandal. before we or "he" tout himself as a candidate for 2008, "he" must do some serious changes with the u.s. gov't to initate change so we all can see.

the last thing we need is another condo rice, talkin' loud, but ain't sayin' nuthin'....
