Ya'll need Jesus Blair Underwood??

With everything I have going on these days I find it pretty hard to consistently read the Word. As well intentioned as I am, after working 12+ hour days and then spending time with the wife and kids, I usually don't feel much like flipping any pages. I know it's a shame to say it, but it's the truth. While I don't watch much TV, it seems that my time is constantly being vied for from outside sources. So my dose of the Word usually comes in the form of church, music, audio sermons or emails from friends or the office Bible thumper, and God forbid you end up on their distribution list. I mean, I love the Lord and all, but how many emails can you get in a week that require you to prove your faith by forwarding to all your friends. Good Grief! But that's not what I wanted to talk about. As I was saying, I'm finding it challenging to get my Jesus on these days, and believe me I've even looked into audio versions of the Bible, but after a while the readers voice began to bore me, but it seems someone was feeling my pain.

Thanks to the people at Inspired by...Media Group you can now get your daily dose of the Word (for now just the New Testament) as presented by over 250 African-American actors, actresses, entertainers and clergy. The producers of this took the Zondervan NIV version and kept it pretty true to form while adding a screenplay format.

Blair Underwood debuts as Jesus, Samuel Jackson is the voice of God, Angela Bassett adds life to the role of Esther and Denzel Washington plays Solomon! There are a host of other celebrities and I'm sure one of your favorites is included in the cast list. One of the Lo Zone favorite friends, Shaun Robinson , is even in the cast!

You can get your copy of this highly anticipated audio version of the Bible on CD or there is an MP3 version for you iPod users. So, do "The Sheletha" and go get your copy today, they are moving fast.

Is it wrong to want to see this just because Blair Underwood looks so good? I'm not really into the bible aspect, but that boy could make me a believer!

I have several friends who participated in this. It was a really cool project that a lot of Black Hollywood got involved in.

Ohhh this just make my journey a little easier.

I like the concept but nothing beats a true relationship with your God.

I get those emails that I have to forward to get a blessing. I never do, but everytime I turn around I seem to get blessed.

mmm, my children's mother is in divinity school so this is an obvious gift for her but I just bought a new iPod and I think I may purchase the download for myself. In times like these . . .

Let me explain myself before everyone thinks I am a complete heathen.I said I wasn't into the bible aspect because I am a Muslim. My book is the Quran (Or the Koran). Anyway, though, all that aside, doesn't anyone else think Blair looks good?

girly girl no one thought you were a heathen. Semi-automatic weapon carrying, but not a heathen. How you commune with a higher power is less important than the fact that you respect your fellow human beings (at least in my eye).

I can't speak to Blair or Hill but I will say that money apparently got him a good skin doctor. When he was on L.A. Law a friend of mine was a sponsor for the first Dionne Warwick AIDS weekend gala and Blair and his dad (that's how long ago it was) were there. Brothers' face was mucked up. So either they do a great job with makeup or he done had a couple peels or something. But you know, I ain't mad at him, I am all about enhancing what you got.

I was mad busy yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to respond. I didn't get in till around midnight, so you know I wasn't logging on last night.

Anyway, I actually ran out and got a copy of this Tuesday, and Blair did a great job as Jesus. Heck, everyone is doing a good job. I really like it, I'm picking up on things I missed while reading.

I'm also going straight through and getting many more chapters in than I normally would. I don't want to skip around, although the bible isn't laid out in chronological order, but I'm anxious to hear more characters.

Kirk Franklin does the voice of Peter, that was cool.

As for Girly Girl (By the way, how's you crazy neighbor) and Sheletha, you two are hilarious. Who else could look at the Word and find a way to make it sensual, but I like y'all. Keep on doing your thing.
