Day One - Prosperity Game

STOP SEEKING PROSPERITY AND START CHOOSING IT INSTEAD

Today we will embark on a new path. A path that leads to greater financial prosperity. We will do this by playing the Prosperity Game. I was first introduced to this by my friend Lolita Files.

She has played this game on a number of occasions with great results. I attempted to play the first time and while I learned a great deal about myself, I was unable to complete the game. Believe it or not, I found great difficulty performing the outlined task.

So how is the game played?

First you will create a userid and signon at the official site. Once there, you will return everyday to that site to spend money given to you by the Universe (God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, The Creator, whatever you are comfortable with). During this process of spending your gift from the Universe, you are supposed to track your feeling surrounding the purchase and your resistance to spending the money. There is a place for that on the site BUT I would like to use The Rich House as your forum of discussion where we will share whatever you want to share regarding the experience. In this manner, you go through the process with a group of friends as opposed to alone. We will support each other.

The Rules:

1. You must spend your entire check on that day

2. You are encouraged not to give your money away, if you can help it. This is not about being charitable. This process is designed to raise your Financial Set Point. A set point is the level at which you are comfortable with money. In other words, as much as we think we want more money, most of us wouldn't be comfortable with lots of money, that's why we don't have a lot. If we get it, we usually find a way to get back to our comfort zone.

For instance, let's say your set point is $50K. If by some stroke of luck you made $70k one year, the next year you would somehow find a way to come by less, even if it meant you lost it somehow to a bad event, just so you could be back in your comfort zone. I know you don't believe me, but play the game and see for yourself.

3. Don't loan money to anyone (if you can help it - we'll talk about this in the coming days)

4. Don't save any money for the next day -- the point to this is that there will ALWAYS be enough for what you want to do, if you draw it to you.

5. HAVE FUN

6. MY RULE - If you can't be positive during this expereince or if you don't believe it will work, then don't play and don't poison anyone else with your negativity.

In the event you don't want to play on the official site, I will give you the amount for the day.
Since it is day ONE, all of you have just been granted $100 to spend however you like. Write down what you will buy with that $100 and make a note how it makes you feel and if you have any resistance to spending it.

*By the way, as the days move forward, you will find that you may have to do some research, because you may not know how much your "something" costs.

Here is what I did my first day playing. As you can see, I first played this 7 months ago. This time I plan on going all the way.

Visit Date Fri 08 Sep 2006
Spending Take my family to Bahama Breeze for Dinner.
Desire Level 4/10
Resistance 1/10
Your Comments I am enjoying seeing the smiles of my children and wife for taking them out to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants.

I will say, that while I spent this on my family the first time through the process, I should have spent it on myself. I found that I have a problem with feeling guilty when I spend money on myself, if I don't buy them something. In fact, I would rather spend on them than myself. So I learned that I was telling the Universe not to send me any money, if it wasn't enought to share with my family.

It definitely wasn't the message I wanted to send, so TODAY, I'm spending my $100 on a Toy Gas Powered Radio Controlled Airplane and the remainder on a haircut.

Here's my first day BigBroRich:

Visit Date Tue 17 Apr 2007
Spending:
I'll spend $25 on a mani-pedicure.
I'll spend $20 on a book [Flow] for my new-found love interest & soulmate because we've both tapped into our Flow & it feels wonderful!
I'll send $15 to each of my parents - just because I always like to give them $ when I can.
I'll spend the last $25 on groceries.
Desire Level 10/10
Resistance 3/10
Your Comments: I am feeling GRAND! Life is Flowing so beautifully that words are not sufficient.

this game seems cool - a li'l time consuming ..but i'll try to hang with it. Much of this seems very similar to what Brother Andrew Morrison promotes (though he doesn't have a "game" on his site, I'll have to tell him about this idea:-). He has helped me a great deal!

I'm excited to be sharing, supporting & being supported by such wonderful energy as i've found here at the RichHouse/LoZone.

Ok, I did not follow directions. LOL. I put one thing in a box thing one more would be available for the $20. LOL. SMH. I will read the directions more closely. I was so anxious.

Visit Date Tue 17 Apr 2007
Spending $80 on a pair of cute sandals I have been eyeing in the Massey catalog.
Desire Level 6/10
Resistance 9/10
Your Comments I feel awkward like $80 is too much for pair of sandals. I also feel guilty for having so many shoes.

Rich Fitzgerald said...

That's cool Shai. As you play this game it should help you through that. I noticed your resistance was high.

Stick with it CAP. It can be time consuming as we move forward, that's why the list of 100 things is important, it will make the process move quicker. If you don't have your list full. Keep adding to it. You a will likely get tips from others on things you "forgot" you wanted.

The 100 things list is hard when attaching a monetary value. I can list a ton of things, their values? This is interesting, challenging and also fun.

Rich Fitzgerald said...

I used my list so I could have direction when I went surfing. You all are on the internet all the time anyway, might as well do a little shopping.

C-Mac, night time is great. As the amount of money rises, you will see less posts early in the day.
