Friday Randomness

For some reason, I’m not feeling a lot of this music that I hear on the radio. Nothing moves me enough to want to purchase. I have only purchased three CD’s all year. So, my question is for a music aficionado such as myself, what CD would you recommend?

While you are coming up with that list, do yourself a favor and check out “Reign Over Me” featuring Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler. And, I know this one has been out for a while but “300” was off the chain. It may be more of a guy flick or for chicks who dig action movies but don't judge the book by the cover. The themes and messages that run through this movie are incredible. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

You are not alone there. I despise most of the music that's currently out. It's all starting to sound like the same song, remixed to death.

300 was a great movie BTW.

I've been wanting to see '300' for a while...I might pick it up for this weekend.

Thanks for the shout out about my book, Rich!!! I love that you're recommending ME!!!

Sorry, nothing I can recommend. I feel the same way...music today SUCKS!

Plannin on renting Reign Over Me this weekend; I love Don Cheadle as an actor. 300 I wasn't so crazy about seeing; not really into the Gladiator thing. But if you recommend it, I just may have to check it out (worse that could happen is I get to look at a bunch of half-naked men kill each other LOL).

Give your ears a break from all that sucks in top 40 music....there's nothing there.

Try some artists like Lizz Wright, Abeena and Richard Elliott.

@xcentric pryncess - Donnie who? The only one that comes to mind is Donnie Hathaway and he's not putting out any more albums.

Great suggestions. A few of which I have considered but just haven't gotten around to.

about the movies...
do yourself a favor: get blockbuster online or netflix. rent 3 dvds from nearly 60,000 titles then return (mail) to get another 3 dvds. i'm with blockbuster online and i've had the choice of nearly all the old 70's black flix, like "cotton comes to harlem", "bucktown" and finished watching capcity's hot mama, tamara dobson as "cleopatra jones". rest in peace sister.

about the music...
i've been listening to XM on AOL radio and they have the gamut in music, particularly, soul music and hip-hop on the real smooth, independent, underground tip, naaah mean????? (;-D -yay,yaay!!!

I heard that Reign was good. I have yet to see it. Knocked Up was a good one, it's not as much of a chick flick as I thought it was gonna be.

As for music I would suggest Lifeline by Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals
