Listening to the music reminded me of a conversation I was having a couple weeks ago with one of my partners from college. At the time, I was trying to remember the name of this musician, that his wild cousin Vincent turned me on to. I finally thought of it. I wonder how many of you were hip to him back in the day.
Anybody remember, Chuck Stanley?

If you don't know this next artist, I'm sure you have heard the song on the quiet storm. It is usually performed by "Frederick". This was my jam in the fall of 1985. I tell you, if the Lord would have blessed me to be a for real singer (I can hold a tune) the ladies would have sho' nuff been in trouble back then. What ch'all know about "Gentle"! If you can't get none off this song, your game is just plane old whack.

Chuck Stanley? Haven't heard of the guy, but that beat took me straight to some old Surface or Loose Ends stuff. "Gentle"...nothing beats the original! That song is probably the reason why more than a few rugrats are running around my home state now!
I can't say that I heard of him either; but I'll check out more of his music.
I never heard the Chuck Stanley song but i think i remember the name and never ever heard the "Gentle" song, but both were so reminiscent of the 80's...I used to love that song by The System, "Don't Disturb This Groove", that was the jam.
Never heard of Chuck NOR that WHACK version of THIS song (that'll REALLY get U some - LOL! ;-):
THE REAL Gentle song sung with SOUL.
OOOOOh, yea - Miz - USED to LOVE me some: Don't disturb this groove!!
Never heard of Chuck. The original Gentle is MUCH better. Nite and Day by Al B. that was a hot one for me when I was young and in first love. LOL.
you making me feel like a young'n or maybe I should say showing your true age... because I dont know any of these people or these songs!
Eb...hears a napkin to wipe the milk off yo chin. hehehe (just fuggin witcha)
RICH!!! You beta quit playin...dey don't know nothin about this! I damn sure remember Chuck Stanley (the young'uns may recognize the beat from Fabolous' Baby Back). But that Dino version...not doing the Fredrick version any justice...
*walks away sangin...where there is love, sometimes there's pain...*
I couldn't find Fredericks version. I guess CAP is better at researching than me.
