Side Note Post

A couple years ago, I actually had this exact same idea, but didn't quite know how to pull it off. Check it out here. I wonder if having that MBA I keep telling myself I don't need would have made a difference. I keep feeling like I'm missing some next level stuff, because I can come up with some amazing ideas, I just don't have the network in place to pull them off. Have you ever felt that way?

So about you having this idea - it's really about great minds thinking alike. Um, I think the idea is a great idea - but I think this will only really fit a certain market. As an analyst, I see a few flaws that would deem this not a great success. For example, urban cities are reving up their public transportation at an affordable cost. People who can't really afford the gas live in areas where they don't need a car. This program wouldn't benefit them. The thing to do though would be to convince the typical suburban family about this idea. It's hard though because either cash is already strapped - or they're two incomes (typically six figures each) and the rise in gas has already been adjusted for. Because the high gas prices affect people in different ways, you'd need a program that does the same thing. This is a very broad/general idea. I'm not hating though, I hope it works.

Loving the commentary. This is how ideas are banged out. I'm not sure I see gas settling back down anytime soon and most people have an aversion to cutting their lifestyle. Nevertheless, I see where you are going but one can only wonder how much he will net before the market stabilizes.

I feel ya. I had a few ideas and one time I had a friend laugh and say it was silly. Now, I see they have made a romance channel and have made romance novels into short films on another channel. LOL.

I feel this way all the time, yet I keep telling myself that I don't REALLY need to go back to school.

I would have never come up with banking gallon of gas, though. How did you feel after reading that?

As a person straddling the fence on obtaining an MBA for exactly the same reason, I understand. Ask yourself this, what will that MBA do for you? What doors will it actually open that you can't open right now?

A degree should not deter you from following through on an idea that you feel strongly about. Sometimes an MBA (or not having one) will decide funding because some banks look for that educational background. But how many successful people are there in the US alone that have NEVER stepped foot on a college campus?

Food for thought...

I read an article earlier about a man who was a teenage drug addict who drop out of high school he is now worth millions. And he never went back to school.
He cleaned himself up and started a business out of a gargage.
And there are more of those stories out there.

The point it is not the MBA of whatever else degree. It is your drive and determination.

Do I have to become your hater?

i have been following this company for a while. At first I wasn't sure it made much sense...well about $1.50 a gallon ago, but now it's making much more sense..

And if they don't have any competition then there is still room for you...cuz there's always room at the top!

@kay c -- I don't feel like I need it for access, I just think it can expand my mind regarding business principles that I just know in part.

@sharon -- hate on sister, hate on.

@aunt jackie -- the real issue is probably passion. I come up with good ideas, but I don't always have a passion for them. I'm not sure if I'd want to be another player in this game, unless I could find a way to improve upon the service he has already created.

Always... I have a real complex about whether or not triumph comes from being in the right place at the right time or if you really have to work for it. I've come to the conclusion that you have to fully prepare yourself for that moment so that you know what to do with it when it presents itself...

dont know if that makes any sense but that's what I got from this

@Eb -- it makes PLENTY of sense. You are pretty smart for a youngster - LOL!
